A US-Belgian citizen of Iranian descent, Kamran studied journalism before establishing an award-winning career in advertising. He later left it behind to work as a creative assistant on projects for Ramin Bahrani, Paul Laverty, Rupert Sanders, and Yann Demange.
Now based in New York City with writing partner Emma Mitchell — who gravitated toward Holocaust and Genocide Studies before starting her career at UTA and Cinetic Media — the two have sharpened their focus to storytelling of their own.  
Their work together explores a range of genres, often through a satirical lens to help make sense of the world around them — or at least try to, which usually leaves them more confused.
